Been a while....

I've just come home from the Kindy run and I thought I should probably blog before I get on with other things. 

I'm not feeling that great at the moment....the back/top part of my throat seems to be a bit sore and I'm hoping it's not a sign of things to come......as this weekend there is a Gem Show on and I am hoping to have a look see. Though I did just purchase a few lovlies off Etsy this past week.....they take a while to get to me. I like instant gratification when I can get it. So I might just find something at this show....but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Not a whole lot going on here.

I have been slowly making a few new things for my etsy shop. 

Though I am struggling with one particular piece that I thought I had finished (tumbled for 4 hours and oxidized) and when I went to polish it up, one of the little balls came off.....and I've tried 2 times since to solder it back on with no luck.

I'm finding it quite frustrating to be honest. So I will try and have another go, after that, I might just give up on it :(

I've been having fun designing with Filigree wire lately too.

And I just received in the mail, half of my Etching set up (this little guy came inside on my parcel).

Also I got a set of carving tools, for wax carving, just need to order some blocks of wax. And I'm loving that silver has come down under $30 again as I think it's time to stock up again.

A friend of mine has just had her 2nd child this week and so I am working on a little initial pebble pendant set for her as a gift. One thing I've noticed about having a baby is that, everyone buys things only for the baby, but forgets the poor woman giving birth. So my gift is more for her, but still sort of for the baby...if you know what I mean?

So I have been a little busy lately, but not as much as I'd like. But it has only been myself getting in the way, so I've only myself to blame for that!

Tomorrow Summer is having her Kindy Class photo taken. I am looking forward to having that. Last week she lost her fave little teddy kinda thing, that I bought for her when I found out I was having a girl. She has had it every night since she was born and it's gone.  

I was sooo sad. 

I wanted to have it for her in her special box of baby things, but it's seems like that will never be :(

Well it's been a long post and I'm starting to feel a little worse for wear than when I started this. I really ought to make an appointment for a hair cut too, but I don't want to go if I'm going to be sick. Sigh.....

Getting things done :)

Yay! I have 3 days to myself this week!

This is Summers first 3 day week at Kindy. 

She loves it and I'm so happy for her. The teachers there are awesome. And some of the mums I have met are really nice too. This Friday night is Mother's night at Kindy, apparently there are going to be activity stations set up, where you and your child can make/do things together. So I have signed up, just hope I am well enough to go in the end (haven't been feeling very well lately).

And a couple of other things I have only half made. I was considering sending in my scraps this week, but after the drop in silver prices, I have decided to hold onto them for the time being. 

I'm hoping to buy some nice new stones this week. Though one problem I have is to choose which ones I really want....I have sooo many faved in my etsy list haha and by the time I decide I want them, they're sold :(

Well I should probably get on with things, as I've only a few hours left before I have to pick up Summer. The weather is cooling down a little during the day time now and I'm loving it!

On my bench...

For once have some things on my bench...but they're all only half made.

Still struggling with a name change (again) lol...I am very attached to the name I have now. Have used it for many years, for sewing and my card making. I've even got labels for my sewing and a heap of different stamps made with my LCH name.

Like I've posted before, I'm not a very decisive person. I end up just confusing myself further :(

Summer had her 3rd and 4th visit to Kindy last week and everything went really well. 

I got quite a lot done on the Thursday morning, but on Friday my hubby was home off work, so I didn't get anything finished. Then the weekend came and I didn't get anything done again :( Plus it poured with rain all day and night on Saturday. Summer has a cough....this morning it seems to be more raspy, so I'm hoping that it means it's clearing up and off her chest, or she might not be able to go this week to kindy.

Hopefully Summer gets to go and I get to finish my work. My shop is being neglected a little.

We had an inspection on Tuesday (the one where the actual owners come once a year) and 2 real estate agents turned up with the 2 owners (older married couple). Talk about intimidation! My hubby and I worked so hard over the weekend, that the house ended up looking in better condition than when we first moved in!!! Of course, no one said anything. But hey, I get to enjoy it looking so good :)

Now we are focused on whether to sign another lease here or not. 

I'm deciding whether to cut a fringe or not - for myself.

And its time to decide on our furniture we have stashed around.

This was a piece we bought for our dining room a while ago:

Apparently from around late 1800's. I absolutely love it. But it needs sooo much work done to it (if you can see the top is splitting/buckling) to restore it and we aren't sure that we will ever get around to it. 

Also several weeks ago, I won a little antique cabinet off ebay and when we got home we noticed the top was all bubbling and puffy and flakes of veneer were coming off (none of this was put in photos or in description).

 I paid a small fortune for this piece too and now we need to pay another small fortune fixing it up. I didn't see the top needed fixing till I got home as the lady's house that we bought it from was soooo dark and my mum carried it out for me and lay it down in the boot, so it was out of view then too. And it took over an hour and a bit to get there! Sigh....wasn't happy at all .... neither was hubs.

So now we've decided to replace a couple of pieces of furniture with new pieces, that don't need to be restored in any way shape or form. Which is hard for me, as I don't really like modern furniture. Plus buying new means paying more - generally anyway. But it beats having half finished pieces around.

That's it for now. I guess I should probably get on with my mopping etc. Oh and there goes the washing machine....need to hang that out too. Not feeling so great yesterday and today....so it makes it really hard to be motivated, but it's got to be done ..... I need a maid ..... or a nanny would be nice ....

And it begins!

My gorgeous baby girls first day at Kindy!!!!

And I can't believe how well it went!

I hung around in the background for about a half hour (whilst it was playtime outside) and then I was talking to one of the teachers and she advised me to try and leave whilst everything was going on. So I called out to Summer and she came over and I told her I was going, but that I would be back before she knew it, as she is going to be having so much fun and that I love her. And can you believe it?? She didn't really mind!!!

That coming from the little girl who this morning said she didn't want to go lol.

So I went through my fave coffee shop drivethru and got their biggest coffee and hung around for half an hour (just in case they needed me to come back) and now I am home. I've got 3 hours to play with before I have to head off and pick her up. 

So I guess I should hit the bench eh?!

Wow this is so strange.....I love her with every fibre of my being and I know how much she needed this. So I hope she is having an awesomesauce time!!!

Almost Friday...

and I still have lots to do for next week.

Everything will change for both Summer and I next Wednesday when she starts at Kindy. I'm still anxious about it. But we both really need this. 

It's finally not very hot!! YIPPEE!!

It's so lovely to be able to go and work at my bench and not have to have a fan on, so I can work in comfort. I have finally gotten to work at my new bench this week. It did look lovely and clean .... then this:

But then I cleaned it up again lol.

I finally got around to making my MIL's ruby ring:

It's a gift for her. Hope she likes it.

I made a new pair of earrings:

And I've finished a couple of small PMC3 charms to go into my shop tomorrow. I got a fresh batch of PMC to make owls etc. And I've started working on a piece with one of those boulder opals I blogged about a while back. 

I took Summer and a friend and her boy to the Australia Zoo last week. It kinda ended in disaster. I won't write about it........ personally I'd rather forget all about it. I did get some good photo's of Summer enjoying her time there, which was pretty much the point of the trip there.

I've got sheets to sew for Summers kindy bed. This is the fabric I chose:

And last but least, we have the owners coming for an inspection on the 24th, even though we just had a routine inspection like 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty frustrated about it as I have enough on my plate right now. But there isn't much I can do about it. I am going to ask if we can do a few things here and if they will fork out for a screen door on the garage where I work....you get tired of flies/wasps/mosquitoes etc in your house and flying at you whilst you work. I hope they agree to it. It will make such a difference.

Spaghetti sauce is simmering away on the stove, it's almost 6pm and my hubby isn't home yet. That's about all the news I have for now. I love this weather!
